Those Are Clouds is a solo exhibition by Juniper Foam, filmed in 10 languages and shown on 6 projections throughout the Lobe Block space.

‍

The characters are non-actors filmed in Berlin, Naples, Belgrade, Dresden and Tehran. Instead of facing each other, they look in the same direction, out into the distance, sharing their thoughts about the world they see.

‍

‍Their voices and the environmental sounds are occasionally transformed into music, so the film scenes that are spread across the two-story, open-plan space temporarily gel together as an ensemble of intimate portraits before disappearing once again into the cinema of everyday life.

‍

We see a father washing his daughter’s hair, a couple's hands as they eat Chinese food, friends driving their go-kart through an outdoor performance, and more.

Juniper Foam is an artist and teacher based in Berlin, working with sound, film and people.

In the past year, his work has been shown internationally at the Triennale Milano, the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro and the Cultural Center of Belgrade.

Lobe Block will be serving  “Juniper Foam” cocktails during the opening night.
